This book was incredibly cute. I was honestly surprised by how likeable both of these characters were, particularly Nathan. I hateful, he was a football histrion and football game players in books unremarkably fit into a bunch of stereotypes, which he didn't at all. And I'm hither for information technology. Bree was a little less unique but her personality was hilarious and eccentric and so she was pretty absurd as well.
And as a couple they were pretty peachy. This book was surprisingly tiresome burn which I actually liked, but there was a bunch of romance when they were fake dating to make upwardly for that! Overall, they were a really beautiful couple even if at times some aspects of their relationship seemed random.

This was a cute sports/friends to lovers romance. four, the dialogue just didn't make it feel like they were adults. similar the lines with nathan and his squad could have only every bit hands been used in a conversation from loftier schoolers and information technology would non change a thing. the side characters were just really apartment and were just there to yell at nathan and bree for being morons.
also yous've got the rich x poor trope where rich person is similar "yous know i can buy you lot something i really don't mind" and the reply is "no but ill experience bad🙁" like just take the motorcar and leave. rip bree and her morals i don't accept any so if anyone ever wants to purchase me a car i won't mind.
i experience like the worst part is that i actually was looking frontwards to it because the tropes seemed cute but i simply couldn't deal with the writing.
i don't think this is a book i would recommend to anyone only if i saw someone pick it up i don't think i would warn them so ig information technology'south not absolutely irredeemable. there were definitely parts of this book that made me smile so hard my face hurt but information technology was overshadowed by the sheer amount of garbage also in this book.

Nathan...I barely have anything to say about him. He's nice and does things for other people, and it feels less forced than Bree's good deeds and notwithstanding...meh? Seeing into his head isn't all that interesting either.
The side characters are actually something. Nathan's teammates were absurd in some parts and cringy in others. I think I still like them meliorate than Bree and Nathan overall.
The book is mostly fluff which is a signal in its favour. If information technology had more angst I would've quit reading a lot earlier.

This bugs me. I 1000
I'yard bailing a scrap early (~15%) but I just tin can't at this point. The master problem is a personal one—that they've been sleeping with other people while in honey with each other. I mean, they've been in love with each other for 10 years, which makes information technology difficult anyhow. I mean, accept a conversation, people! Seriously. Simply they're so busy friend-zoning each other preemptively that they can't have a serious talk, apparently. Which is bad. But worse, they're sleeping with other people!This bugs me. I mean, it says something about you if you're sexing up other people while hung up on another. And while coincidental sex might be fine (dunno, never take, dubiousness I could), these are relationships with at least weeks standing (and Bree just dumped someone at the six month mark). And that's just a jerk movement (to be in the human relationship, non that she dumped him).
And being all uptight about this allow me pick at the residue of the story in my head. Like that both audio about a decade younger than their given twenty-eight, making this experience like a YA romance. Which was weird. But worse was the whole affair with Bree and her bleeding heart school for trip the light fantastic. Don't get me wrong, my eye bleeds just fine. I find her goals beauteous and would love to buy that she's really into providing needs-based tuition in a high-caliber dance curriculum. Only, at least some of the plot includes a rent increase that means she has to accept on more classes when she's already exhausted with her current load. And she shuts Nathan down hard when he offers to subsidize the studio. "Imma do information technology myself!" she whines, petulantly (I may have editorialized that some).
Which means that she isn't actually serious about providing quality dance instruction, doesn't information technology? No, her pride or ego (or something) is more than important than her supposed commendable goal. So the author wants to give her nobility points, just does so in a fashion that actually makes her kind of stupid and perhaps a bit selfish. And also, Nate has already gone behind her back and is paying her landlord for part of her rent all sub-rosa. Because that's what a caring guy he is. Going behind his dear's back to unilaterally solve an upshot she can't solve on her ain. Because he'due south the human being, apparently.
Encounter? This is high school stuff! And then yeah. 1 star, though I did kind of similar their interactions. I liked them as a couple, frankly. But a romance needs to testify people falling in honey. This own't that. They're already in beloved. Their lives are already entwined. They merely take to accept a conversation and the book is over. So everything in the fashion of that chat just feels dumb, to me.

I dearest how in that location are too these scenes when the characters are vulnerable and experiencing these very real-life things and I love how anxiety/panic attacks are dealt with and not taken lightly.

Their story was the definition of CUTE! I really enjoyed reading virtually them because yous tin actually run into how much they truly care for each other. You can likewise see their dearest linguistic communication as their story progresses which I thought was really cool. Through out this entire book, they just kept questioning whether or not the other person had feelings for them and it was only so rewarding when they FINALLY confessed their feelings. Nathan is the cutest ever and I am a Breen stan! They're just really likable characters, and then it's really easy to root for their relationship. Non a lot of drama, just super simple and fun! I just wish nosotros got more tension in the book because they were scenes that would've been perfect with a little added spice, so if ur a reader who wants spice this isn't for you! I personally don't need spice in every book I read. Another factor I really like was that I loved some of the side characters (nathans teammates, bree'due south sis lily, Dylan). I thought they made the story more enjoyable throughout! Over a really quick and cute and fun read that will have you happy and grinning!
